Questions, answered properly
Everything businesses ask us before signing up — including the questions we would rather you asked now than found out later.
Getting started
The WhatsApp Business app is built for one person answering a phone. The API is what a business uses when it needs several people on one number, bulk messaging that is permitted rather than tolerated, automation, and integration with its own systems. There is no app to download — the API is used through a platform like WhatEdge. If more than one person answers your customers, or you want messages to send themselves, you need the API.
Usually, yes. The number has to be migrated to the API, and once it is, it will no longer work in the WhatsApp app on a phone — that is a Meta rule, not ours. We handle the migration. If you would rather keep your existing handset number as it is, we can register a new number instead.
Most businesses are live within a week. Most of that time is Meta’s verification and template approval rather than anything on our side. Simple setups have gone live in two or three days.
The green tick is granted by Meta on the basis of brand notability, and it is not something anyone can buy or promise. We prepare and submit the application properly, which is the part that is in our control. Anyone who guarantees you a green tick is not being straight with you.
WhatEdge is a product of Arsaviva Technologies Private Limited, an Indian software company. We work with businesses across India, and you can call us during working hours and reach a person who knows your account.
Pricing & billing
No. Every price on this site is exclusive of GST, which is charged additionally at 18% on the applicable subscription or service fee.
There is no setup fee on the platform itself. WhatsApp Business API registration, business verification, template approval and staff training are included in your plan. Integration services — connecting Tally or Busy, or having us build a Google Sheets integration for you — are optional and priced separately, and every figure is published on the pricing page.
No. All WhatEdge subscription plans are billed annually.
No. No WhatEdge plan caps how much you send. Your daily reach is governed by your Meta messaging tier, which rises automatically as your quality rating stays healthy. Plans differ on agents, chatbot automations and advanced features — never on message volume.
No. You buy your messaging from WhatEdge and top it up in your dashboard. There is no separate Meta billing account to open, no international card to put on file and no second invoice at month end. WhatsApp charges per 24-hour conversation rather than per message, at rates that vary by category — marketing, utility, authentication or service.
It depends on how many conversations you open in a month and which categories they fall into. On the demo call we will work it out from your real volumes, so you know the full monthly number — platform fee plus messaging — before you commit to anything.
On the Advanced plan, AI-assisted replies and ChatGPT or Dialogflow flows run on AI credits, which are purchased separately from your platform plan. Tell us your expected volumes and we will price them.
We do not run a self-serve free trial, because a WhatsApp API account has to be registered and verified before it can send anything — a trial account would not show you the product working on your own data. Instead we run a free demo on your actual use case: your invoice format, your sheet, your enquiry flow.
Yes, at any time. The difference is adjusted on your next invoice.
API access for Google Sheets is included from the Basic plan up, and you or your developer can build the integration yourself with it. If you would rather we built it for you — columns mapped, triggers set, templates written — that is an optional service charged per sheet as a one-time fee. Both routes lead to the same result; the difference is who does the work.
Tally and Busy integration support is an optional annual service, charged separately from your plan. It covers connecting your installation so invoices go out on WhatsApp as they are raised, and keeping that working. The exact figure is on the pricing page.
Campaigns & features
Three ways. Upload a CSV and map the columns to your message variables; copy and paste straight out of Excel or Google Sheets into the grid with no file at all; or build a segment from your existing contacts using tags, activity and location filters, and save it to reuse.
A series of WhatsApp messages sent to the same contact over time — after twelve hours, then two days, then a week, at whatever intervals you set. It runs automatically, personalises each message from the contact record, and stops the moment the person replies or converts, so nobody is chased after they have already answered. Included on every plan.
Yes, and that is the whole point of them. The form opens inside the conversation rather than behind a link, so there is no browser to open and no page to wait for. Completion rates are far higher than a web form sent by message. Lead capture, appointment booking, feedback, orders and registrations are all covered, on every plan.
Yes. You can publish a catalogue with images, descriptions, prices and categories, share it as a link or a printable QR code, and take orders in the conversation. It is included on every plan, and our team builds the catalogue from your product list as part of setup.
We do, as part of onboarding, on every plan — it is a small script on your website. From then on, behaviour on your site can trigger a WhatsApp follow-up: an abandoned cart, a product viewed repeatedly, or a customer who has not returned. It still only applies to people who have opted in to hear from you.
Messaging & compliance
Yes — on the official API, using approved templates, to people who have agreed to hear from you. What gets numbers banned is unofficial panels that automate the regular WhatsApp app, and messaging bought lists. We only operate on the official API, and we will tell you if a campaign looks likely to damage your quality rating.
Any message your business sends first — before the customer has written to you — has to use a template that Meta has approved. It stops WhatsApp filling up with unsolicited marketing. WhatEdge handles the writing, category selection, submission and approval tracking, and keeps every approved template ready to reuse. Approval usually takes a few hours.
Your quality rating drops, and if it keeps dropping Meta restricts your number. This is the single most important thing to protect. We monitor your rating, warn you when a campaign is heading the wrong way, and honour opt-outs automatically so people who have asked to stop hearing from you are excluded from every future campaign.
You do, and yes — at any time, in standard formats. Your contacts and conversations are yours. If you close your account we will permanently delete your data from production and backups within 30 days of a written request.
Integrations
Yes, for sending bills and invoices. The moment an invoice is raised in Tally it goes to the customer on WhatsApp with the PDF attached, using the number already on their ledger. Our team installs and configures the connector.
Yes, the same way as Tally. Invoices raised in Busy are delivered on WhatsApp as they are raised, with the PDF attached and the number taken from your customer master.
Payment reminders run through the Google Sheets integration, not through Tally or Busy. Invoices come out of your accounting software; reminders come off a sheet. Most customers run both together, and it is the combination that does the real work.
A sheet you already maintain drives the messages. The columns — phone number, name, amount, due date, status — are mapped to the message, and a trigger is set: a date, a change in a status cell, or a scheduled daily run. From then on your team updates the sheet exactly as before, and the messages send themselves. API access to do this yourself is included from the Basic plan up; if you would rather we built it for you, that is an optional per-sheet service.
Yes, through the API or webhooks. Push contacts and leads in, pull conversation history back out, and fire a message from any system that can make an HTTPS request. We provide keys, documentation, a sandbox and technical support during the integration.
Not for Google Sheets, Tally or Busy — our team sets those up for you. You will want a developer, or our team on a scoped engagement, for custom API work against your own CRM or ERP.
Setup & support
Our team sets it up with you — API verification, templates, flows and integrations — and trains your staff. After go-live you have support by phone, WhatsApp and email during working hours, with priority handling on higher plans. We stay close through the first week in particular.
