Security & compliance

Your customer list is your business. We treat it that way

Where your data sits, who can see it, what happens when you leave — and the messaging rules that keep your number alive, which is the part most businesses do not realise is at stake.

Short answer

Your contacts and conversations belong to you, are exportable at any time, and are permanently deleted from production and backups within 30 days of a written request. Messages travel over Meta’s own encrypted WhatsApp infrastructure, access inside your account is role-based, and opt-outs are honoured automatically across every future campaign.

Infrastructure

How the platform is built

Encrypted end to end in transit

Messages travel over Meta’s own encrypted WhatsApp infrastructure. Traffic to and from WhatEdge is protected by TLS, and data at rest is encrypted.

Secured cloud hosting

Hosted on secured cloud infrastructure with regular automated backups and monitored availability.

Restricted production access

Access to production systems is limited to the people who need it, and every access is logged.

Your data

  • Your contacts and conversations belong to you, not to us
  • Exportable at any time, in standard formats
  • We do not sell, share, or use your customer data for any other purpose
  • On written request, your data is permanently deleted from production and backups within 30 days of account closure

If you leave, you leave with your data and your number. There is no lock-in beyond your billing term, and we would rather you stayed because the product works.

Access control inside your account

  • Role-based permissions — agents see only the conversations they should
  • Department-level separation between sales, service and accounts
  • Activity logs on user actions
  • Named accounts, so nobody needs to share a login

Messaging compliance

  • Official WhatsApp Business API only — no unofficial panels, no modified apps
  • Templates approved through Meta’s own process before anything is sent
  • Opt-out honoured automatically; opted-out contacts are excluded from every future campaign
  • Guidance on consent, so your business stays inside Meta’s policy and keeps its quality rating

Quality rating, and what we will tell you

Meta scores every business number on how recipients react to it. Blocks and reports pull that score down, and a poor rating means restricted reach, then suspension.

We monitor your rating and warn you when a campaign looks likely to damage it. Sometimes that means telling a customer not to send something they very much want to send. We would rather have that conversation than watch a number get restricted, because the number is far harder to replace than the campaign.

What we ask of you

Message people who have agreed to hear from you. The fastest way to lose a WhatsApp number is to buy a list and blast it, and no platform — ours included — can protect you from the consequences of that. Segment rather than broadcast to everyone, give people a clear reason for each message, and the channel keeps working.

FAQ

Questions about data and compliance

You do, and yes — at any time, in standard formats. Your contacts and conversations are yours. If you close your account we will permanently delete your data from production and backups within 30 days of a written request.

Your quality rating drops, and if it keeps dropping Meta restricts your number. This is the single most important thing to protect. We monitor your rating, warn you when a campaign is heading the wrong way, and honour opt-outs automatically so people who have asked to stop hearing from you are excluded from every future campaign.

Yes — on the official API, using approved templates, to people who have agreed to hear from you. What gets numbers banned is unofficial panels that automate the regular WhatsApp app, and messaging bought lists. We only operate on the official API, and we will tell you if a campaign looks likely to damage your quality rating.

Ask us the awkward questions

Where the data sits, what happens if we part ways, what we would refuse to send. We would rather answer those now than after you have signed.
